@arthurgarrisonlast month This music is truly a blessing. I am an Autistic, and this music helps me remain calm when I think my world is collapsing. This is basically ASMR for my heart, mind, and soul. However, type of music has also been a sort of step on my spiritual journey. I was raised Protestant, but have always loved medieval European history, where the RCC has is a large participant, I became an Anglican at university, but still struggled with my faith. Today, I am working to join the Roman Catholic Church, because it is so ancient, beautiful, and unyielding to the social fads of the moment that I thought ", This is what true Christianity must be." This church is in the world, but not of the world. Pax Vobiscum, brothers and sisters. Deus lo Vult. ... 10

@_Cato_last year I always loved Gregorian chants (thanks to Halo) but I always thought it was a thing of the past. It wasn’t until I went to a Catholic Latin Mass and heard the haunting, heavenly tones of Gregorian chant wash over me…and in that moment, my heart changed and I finally found God.
These chants have such magnificent power; the Church would do well to bring it back in full.

@CapricornSunSagRisingLibraMoon7 months ago Gregorian chant is a sung prayer of the Catholic Church.Gregorian chant began during the Middle Ages in Europe. It's monophonic, which means it's a melody of one note at a time. In the Gregorian chant repertory there are eight psalm tones. The Psalms were prayers written to be sung, in public settings where God's people had gathered, or in private places where the shepherd boy watched over his sheep. Now those same verses have been preserved for us, all these centuries later, in our hectic and chaotic world. Because each psalm verse is divided into two halves, the psalm tones have a binary, or two-part, form. The Roman Catholic Church no longer requires people to sing Gregorian chants, but it still says that it's the best music for prayer.
Gregorian chanting has been studied since the mid-1990s for its health benefits. Gregorian chanting is based on the cadence of the human breath. It can help the mind focus, reduce stress, and lower blood pressure. It can also be beneficial for both work and meditation.
Rooted in Pythagorean conceptions of harmony and balance, Gregorian chant grew from an intuitive awareness of how the ear interprets sound. The music was deemed capable of salvation through its very physical effect on the listener.

My mother would tell me that the georgorian chants were sung in Latin, and that all Catholic Church services were done only in Latin when she was young

@David-rq6ok3 months ago Colossians 1 About Jesus:
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
    19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
    1 John 5:3
For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not burdensome.
    Rev 22:14
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
    THE TEN COMMANDMENTS….
1- THOU SHALT HAVE NO OTHER GODS BEFORE ME
2- THOU SHALT NOT MAKE UNTO THEE ANY GRAVEN IMAGE
3- THOU SHALT NOT TAKE THE NAME OF THY GOD IN VAIN
4- REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY TO KEEP IT HOLY
5- HONOUR THY FATHER AND THY MOTHER
    6- THOU SHALT NOT KILL
7- THOU SHALT NOT COMMIT ADULTERY
    8- THOU SHALT NOT STEAL
9- THOU SHALT NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS AGAINST THY NEIGHBOURS
    10- THOU SHALT NOT COVET
Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Hebrews10:26-31- For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God!!..
These few verses unmask deception and reveal idolatry:
    Jeremiah 7:18
The children gather wood, the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead dough, to make cakes for the queen of heaven; and they pour out drink offerings to other gods, that they may provoke Me to anger.
The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the works of human hands. They have mouths, but do not speak; they have eyes, but do not see; they have ears, but do not hear, nor is there any breath in their mouths. Those who make them become like them. SO DO ALL WHO TRUST IN THEM. Psalm 135:15-18
    Deuteronomy 4:16
that you do not act corruptly and make an idol for yourselves of any form or shape, whether in the likeness of a male or female,
    Jeremiah 7:18-19 KJV
The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the ¨queen of heaven¨, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger. Do they provoke me to anger? saith the LORD: do they not provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces?
Mary and saint worship, Mary the mediatrix and queen of heaven? God cleary told us Jesus is the ONLY mediator between God and mankind. Whoever else you use as mediator or pray to is IDOLATRY.
1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus.
Saints dont intermediate and dont listen to prayers, they are dead people like you and me, made of flesh and they died, Mary also is one of them, she was a normal woman who gave birth to Jesus and she and other people may not be worshipped.
God declared the dead as the following:
Ecclesiastes 9:5-6 For the living know they will die; but the dead do not know anything, nor have they any longer a reward, for their memory is forgotten. 6Indeed their love, their hate and their zeal have already perished, and they will no longer have a share in all that is done under the sun.
If the dead are alive somewhere... then who are the ones Christ will resurrect at his arrival?
Second commandment (Ex 20:4): Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, ...
this includes rosary necklaces, Mary and saint statues, Jesus, Mary and saint images, crosses, 'holy relics' and many more items used in worship by most denominations. People bow down before these things, kiss them, pray with them and that is wrong.
Christ is the mediator we pray towards, close the door and pray to him honestly without any items or images, he is the living God and does not share his glory with manmade things.
It is time to return to the old Hebraic faith of Jesus (Yeshua) and do what he did (obey the Fathers commandments and laws). There was no Catholic church or hundreds of denominations each with their own views and opinions back in the days of Jesus and the prophets. Believers had the old testament back then, which is the foundation of all scripture and the key to understand the new testament. Most Cathechism practices like rosary prayers etc are just invented in the 16th century.. first pope existed in 538ad and not in the apostles their days. those things got nothing to do with Jesus, its the traditions and vanities of religious men who went far astray from the Fathers commands.
Many teachings and videos are available on our fb page lessons from Jesus

@jacob_90slast year I attended seminary for a little over a year, which was run by a Benedictine Monastery. I'll admit the chanting didn't sound as nice as this, but it was still very beautiful. Mass was also very lovely. About a dozen of the monks were also priests, and so they would all celebrate mass together. As someone who grew up going to church where you might have at most two priests, seeing a dozen priests around the altar, with monks in pews on either side of them, then with an entire room full of people, felt like something out of another age. ... 90
