Why We're Not Finding Out Our Baby's Gender

Since being pregnant, I've been getting a lot of questions from people that go along the lines of "What are you having?"(spoiler: it's a baby!) In this episode of #TheHormoneDiaries, let's get into why my partner and I aren't finding out the "gender" of our baby and chat about some of the things I've been learning about the differences between sex, gender, and genitals! This entire video, however, is about a seemingly innocent and well intentioned question that actually perpetuates stigma and harm against a community so feels hypocritical to not interrogate also. As someone who has had a chronic illness since childhood (and was an "unhealthy" baby), I personally don't have a problem with this phrase, but that doesn't mean others don't (disabled/chronically ill folks aren't a monolith!)
