In a recent interview with Behindwoods, Santosh Sivan had revealed the movie is titled ‘Centimeter’ and has Yogi Babu playing a crucial role. Here’s some interesting information on the project. Sources close to us have revealed that Yogi Babu will be playing an animated avatar in this movie. This miniature avatar of Yogi Babu will be the first time where he will be playing an animated character on screen. The miniature version is sure to remind everyone of the '3.0' character played by Superstar Rajini in the Magnum opus movie '2.0'. It's a well known fact that actor Vijay was titled Ilaya Thalapathy during the initial stages of his career, and is now being called Thalapathy Vijay. However, Vijay wasn't the first actor in Tamil cinema to have Ilaya Thalapathy title. Before Vijay, actor Saravanan of Paruthi veeran and Bigg Boss 3 fame was having the title Ilaya Thalapathy. In a recent interview, Saravanan revealed that he was given the title by DMK prominent member Veerapandi Arumugam in the 90s, in a meeting held in Salem. Saravanan's name was displayed with the title Ilaya Thalapathy in movies like Nallathe Nadakkum, Sundaram plus 2 etc but after the arrival of Vijay, he started using the title. When Saravanan asked director SA Chandrasekhar regarding the title, he had reportedly told Saravanan to use the title if he's acting in films. Mani Ratnam started his dream project Ponniyin Selvan in 2019 after several attempts in the past. He assembled one of the biggest star cast in India that includes Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Prabhu, Jayaram, Sarathkumar, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi and many others. A major schedule was shot in Thailand and the first part was planned to be completed by the year-end. However the coronavirus pandemic and the eventual lockdown have stalled the production indefinitely. Since 'Ponniyin Selvan' involves a lot of war and other sequences that require close contact between the cast and crew it is difficult to resume shooting even after the lockdown restrictions lift phase by phase. Hence it is now reported that Mani Ratnam has decided to make a quickie love story in the gap and then resume his magnum opus when it is appropriate. Mani Ratnam and Suhasini in a recent Insta interaction already informed fans that a new script is ready and now it is said that its going to be a mature love story. It is further added that Arvind Swamy who has collaborated with Mani Ratnam in five films is in talks to play the lead role. More on this is awaited.
