Cheese Buchi
Sharing with you my version of Cheese Buchi. You just need a few ingredients and easy steps. Watch this video and try this at home. Please don’t judge! 😁
Buchi is a Filipino adaptation of Jian dui, a type of fried Chinese pastry made from glutinous rice flour, a sweet filling and coated with sesame seeds. Also known as sesame balls. Inside the pastry is a large hollow, caused by the expansion of the dough. It is golden and crunchy on the outside, and soft, chewy on the inside, and they make a delicious and filling snack or dessert.
Disclaimer: I'm not a chef. You don't need to be a Pro to eat good food, or eat food that you like or crave for. You just have to explore in the kitchen! My cooking/baking is based on my personal taste and I always do it my way. I just love cooking food and making video recipes of it, even my first time cooking. Most of my recipes are also from Youtube and other reading materials. My measurements are often estimates, and some of my ingredients are optional and leftovers.
Ingredients:
1 cup Glutinous Rice Flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup sesame seeds
1 cups cheese, cubed or grated
1 cup hot water (you can add more)
Instructions:
*Dissolve the sugar with hot water then mix it to the glutinous flour.
*With a spoon, stir to moisten the flour, and observe the consistency of dough. The dough should feel wet but not overly sticky.
*Using palm of hands, roll each portion into 2-inch size balls.
*In the center of dough ball, place the cheese in the middle and roll it gently.
*Soak the buchi into the water, then roll it over into the sesame seeds.
*Deep fry until golden brown.
*Serve while it’s hot. Enjoy!
