New Car to Race Car. Race Car to Record Holder. Record Holder to Totaled. Totaled to Resurrected. Resurrected to Redemption. But Why? This is our story about how we did it. Perhaps more importantly, it is our story about our reason why we decided to defy the odds and overcome the "impossible". I recorded this the morning after our Pikes Peak run to the top. I wanted to make a video for all of our friends, and the Tesla community who have followed our journey. I felt it was important, despite how exhausted we all are, to explain while still in the moment why we did what we did and how we overcame the odds. The why is more important than the how, but I share all of the details here. Since making this video live at the event was not possible, I did the next best thing. I woke up the day after, I went to Eurocars Collision (where we repaired the car and still have our second Model 3 that we bought) I climbed up on the lift and into the donor car and recorded this video from inside it. I like working behind the scenes, so it is uncharacteristic for me that I would make a video talking into my cell phone. In this case however, I felt sharing this story was more important than my personal comfort/preference of being off camera. I'd be so happy if this helps inspire, uplift spirits or just creates any degree of positivity for even one person in a very challenging 2020. I feel the world needs more positive stories. This is why I filmed this, despite being way outside of my comfort zone. I’d love to see your comments if this video helps inspire you. This is for our fans, for the Tesla community, for our friends at Tesla and for anyone who enjoys seeing teamwork, mission and perseverance to overcome the so called “impossible”. This is our journey in my own words. Thank you all for your support.
