Introduced last year in three phases, this remission programme reaches its final stage on the 77th Independence Day celebration. Certain categories of prisoners will receive special remission, allowing them to have an early release from their sentences. This noble move allows them to relish their freedom and turn a fresh page for an aspiring future. Adding to the prisoners' sense of liberty is the "Tinka Tinka Jail Radio," a medium that builds a creative connection to the outside world. The Tinka Tinka podcasts, narrate and document tales of prison reform. It is conceived, narrated, and produced by Dr. Vartika Nanda, a prominent prison reformer and media educator. These episodes are available on both YouTube and Spotify. The distinctive tune of the "Tinka Tinka" podcast is composed by three inmates of District Jail, Dehradun, who have been invaluable contributors to the podcast's journey.
